Hi All ,
Im trying frantically to post this as a new thread but in vain . I would be ogliged if any1 of u can guide me through the process . Also not wasting further time i would like some info which is purely based on my discretion , but suggestion is well appreciated from u end .I would like to know wat r the things to be followed in h1 . Currently im facing issue with my h1 ie , my h1 was approved from this year lottery and it had a query which i have sent a letter to ins through my consultant , in aug but i have not recd any update so far . Im all confused as to what is my status coz at time im told that im on student visa and at time on h1 . Also if i find a job i will be paid only wen its valid . currently i stand on a crossroad of confusion , agony , pain and frustation . pls some 1 guide me thrgh this and if reqd i would apprecciate if u can also mail me . Trust me this info will be only confidential . i have loads of queries and from the time ie if my so called h1 is approved then i have still not got a job and my employer is done nothing much to market it . wat time frame do i require to be on job . pleaseeeeeeeeee help .email me at niharika.das13@gmail.com

As far as I know your son is safe as I485 has already been filed. I had a similar situation with my daughter, she became 21 only yesterday, but I filed her I485 on June 25 and according to my attorney, she should be fine.

If you're on H1 on 4 years, have been suffering from not able file 485, and if the legislation says "6 years on H1" or whatever year on 140, how would you feel? Cheerful? Joyful? or Zealous? or Joyless, depressed?
You're just a selfish guy to cover your asz, right?
Are you planning to get some benefit from your brother's delayed cases?
It's time to comply, time to be unite.

Hi,
My employer applied for my H1b Extension and the case was received on Aug 5th by USCIS. The online status still shows the case to be in "Initial Review". Out of curiosity, I called USCIS and they told me that they can only reveal information abuot the case to my employer. So I called my employer and they gave me a shocking news - They had received an RFE about a month ago and they "forgot" to inform me. They are not revealing me the details of the RFE.
We have to respond to the RFE by Nov 3rd, and since I had a change of project(I did provide the previous client letter when we had originally applied for H1b extension) they are asking me to get a client letter and other proofs within a day!!!! My client is taking its on time and I do not think I will get the client letter to send it in time.
1) What are my options here? Not knowing what the RFE is, being told about the RFE with just 2 days remaining, can I threaten to take any legal action against my employer?
2) Is it my right to get a copy of the RFE?
3) How come the case status did not change on USCIS website?
My current visa expires on Nov 20th. Please advice ASAP!
#1 - H1B is company's petition, you are merely a beneficiery, you can not do anything.
#2 - It is not your right to ask for RFE notice copy, but you can request.

The intent is to keep the issue of immigration alive till the elections so that there is a chance for any Immigration bill after elections. There are several other pressing issues faced by the nation and Immigration is just one of them. It may not be #1 priority now. No. It should be greater of Prevailing or Actual wage. Actual wage is wage paid to people with same qualification/experience for similar position in your company. If there are no other employee with similar qualification/experience in similar position, actual wage is wage paid to you.
Also there are other restrictions like if you voluntarily agreed BEFORE joining, if it was a condition for employment etc.

I got the exact same letter today, except mine says below "CANCELLED", that I am to appear on July 9th at the Jacksonville FL. office at 8 am. - so is it cancelled or not?
I spent 45 minutes calling the stupid 800 number on the notice, wasting time pressing numbers 1-9 and never getting a human being on the phone to find out what was going on. Needless to say I was extremely frustrated by the time I just pressed 3, which was supposed to be for a change of address, but I finally got a real person on the line and she managed to transfer me to the right department.
When I finally got to speak to someone there, this woman was as confused as I was and nothing was resolved. She said that the July 4th holiday affected appointments from July 5-8, but that doesn't include my appointment date. She finally said she would forward the issue to her supervisor and have her contact me to sort this out. I have not heard anything yet so I have no clue at this point what is going on and if I need to show up for the appointment or not.
I have to travel approx. 3 hours each way to get to Jacksonville and I made that clear, that I was not willing to waste time getting the folks I live with to drive that distance when they are elderly and disabled if I wasn't meant to be there.
She was very nice and very understanding but unable to resolve the problem so I wait for the supervisor I guess.
Does anyone else have a clue what happened or why this sort of confusion went unnoticed? I mean, anyone reading the notice I got would go :confused:

Why do not u go to another License bureau and reapply and see what happens? If the other license bureau issues u Maryland license then take it.Also call up OHIO license bureau and ask them what does "non renewable/non transferable" actually mean and tell them the problem u are facing in Maryland. May be they will say something which will help u when u go to Maryland license bureau.
Actually, I took all my documents and initially I was issued Maryland driver's license then he saw this note and called his supervisor and his supervisor cancelled Maryland Driver's license and gave me back Ohio driver's license. May be its matter of whether someone looks your ohio driver's license carefully or not. but bottomline now, I am not able to get Maryland driver's license.
Should I goto different DMA? is it illegal if someone gave me Maryland license even though there is "non renewable/non transferable" written?
